Houdini somehow freed himself from the cage! Of course, this was nearly an hour AFTER I called animal control, but since the rescuer hadn't yet arrived, there is a small chance I won't be charged for the call.
Perhaps the only thing more irksome than eating $125 for a squirrel rescue is eating $125 for a CANCELLED squirrel rescue. :-/
